The Gospel outline with scripture references presented here is brief.
But a glimpse of God’s love for you/us through His word should
lead us to want more.
It is an outline and not a creed. Christ
and His word are our only creed.
We urge you to read these scriptures
in context with surrounding verses.
The most important truth we can ever learn is that
God loves us.

Even though we have fallen short of the perfect love and obedience that is required to spend eternity with Him,

God has provided a way for us to overcome our failures. The way is through Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God. There is no other way to God except through Jesus.

As the Son of God, Jesus left His place in Heaven and
became a man.

Galatians 4:4-5)
As a man, Jesus lived a perfect life of love and obedience to his Father (God)

He was also willing and able to bear the punishment for our failures (our sins).

Since the punishment for sin is death, Jesus took our sin upon Himself and was put to death on a cross.

His dead body was taken away and buried.

On the third day after His crucifixion, God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus will never die again. He has eternal life.

If we have faith in His Son (Jesus), God promises to give us eternal life. We don’t have to do anything to justify ourselves to Him, just know that He paid the price for our sins and set us free.

Faith is sometimes mistaken for merely understanding His promise, but faith is much more. Faith is being so sure of God that we do what He asks, knowing that He will keep His promises to those who obey Him. This is not justifying ourselves to God; it is simply doing what He asks of us.

The faith that initially brings salvation is through obedience to the gospel.

The gospel is a simple message that tells the story of Jesus and what He did to provide a way of salvation for us.

It tells us that if we: 1) believe in Jesus as the Son of God,
(Mark 16:16, Acts 16:30-34, John 20:31,
Romans 3:22)
2) repent from our sins and turn to God,
(Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 26:20, Acts 20:21)
3) confess our belief in Jesus as the resurrected Son of God, and are
(Romans 10:9-10, Acts 8:37, Matthew 16:15-18, Luke 12:8, 1 Timothy 6:12)
4) baptized, we will be saved. Baptism (immersion in water) is for the forgiveness of sins and is what God asks us to do to be united with Jesus Christ. Our dead body of sin is buried with Jesus through baptism and is raised with Him through our faith in the power of God.

If we will obey the gospel God promises to give us His Spirit to help us through life.

If we remain faithful He promises to give us eternal life with Him in heaven.

2 Peter 1:5-11)
He will do this because he loves us.
